POLITICS: WV DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY RECAP


Sen. Hillary Clinton won a lopsided victory over Sen. Barack Obama in Tuesday’s West Virginia Democratic Primary. According to exit polls, more than 8 in 10 backed Clinton. However, because of his lead in delegates, her win in one of the WHITEST and MOST RURAL states is unlikely to hurt Obama’s chances of winning the Dem. nomination.
Obama’s aides said his lead in delegates and in the popular vote had him feeling like a winner. The Times headline pretty much sums it up: Hillary Clinton takes West Virginia but defeat still looms.
