SEAN BELL UPDATE

On Saturday, Al Sharpton announced plans for a pray-in to protest the acquittals of three police officers in the death of Sean Bell.
Protesters plan to pray on their knees and be arrested for civil disobedience at half a dozen places around NYC, including the police headquarters, on Wednesday.
Nicole Paultre Bell, Bell’s fiancĂ©e who took his name after his death, plans to participate and any other action “until justice is done”. According to Sharpton, “It’s going to be a long struggle, but the race isn’t given to the swift or the strong, but to those who endure.”
In a recent interview with Essence, Nicole Paultre Bell said that filing a civil suit will be the last thing that is done. “Right now we’re hoping that when the Justice Department looks into this, I pray that they will show us justice. I’m not giving up. I’m prepared to be a part of any protests as well. This is round two. This happened to my family. So I’m going to stand strong and pray that justice is done.”
In related news, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z established a trust for Bell’s daughters. Nicole Paultre Bell was featured in an ad for Rocawear’s “I Will Not Lose” campaign.
