Gerra Gistand of MacGregor elementary won first place during the 13th Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory. Finalists gave original five-minute speeches on the topic: If Dr. King were alive today, what do you think he would say about current events?
The name stands for: The Yeshua Connection, and this distinguished group of young adults have not only established themselves as grounded servants in Yeshua, but also have been groomed to actively participate and lead auxiliaries in the church. T.Y.C. seeks to train, equip, empower, and connect young-adult leaders (at all levels of the church) for the development of Yeshua-seeking young adults in the church and beyond. They have their own activities, but are also active participants in various components in the ministry. The goal is to help keep young adults connected to one another and to the church in one way or another, and this group does that. The programs consist of meetings, extra-curricular outings, and spiritual retreats, all designed to promote the “Connection to Yeshua” in every aspect of life. T.Y.C. meets every 2nd Sunday, after services, from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm.
