A bit more info about the surprising death of Isaac Hayes has been found out. It is now known that the treadmill the 65 year old was found lying next to was still running. And the authorities believe Mr. Hayes died from natural causes while/after working out. His death also may have stemmed from his high blood pressure his family knew him to have. According to the People.com:
“The family had last seen him about noon,” says Steve Shular, public information officer for that office. “Family members had gone to the grocery store and left him home. When the family came home around 1, his wife’s cousin found him lying on the floor in the basement near a treadmill. The treadmill was running, so it is believed that he had been working out.”
Mr. Hayes also suffered a stroke in January of 2006 which was believed to be brought on by exhaustion. Still, no foul play is thought to have occured. Hayes reportedly had 12 children (his youngest just born in 2006), 14 grandchildren, and 3 greatgrandchildren. R.I.P. Mr. Hayes.
In some eerie news, Isaac is also in the upcoming Soul Men movie and his co-stars wereBernie Mac and Samuel L. Jackson. According to one media source:
Death is a big subject in the film. The entire plot of the movie revolves around Mac and Jackson eulogizing the death of their friend with music, only now two members of the film’s actual cast really are dead. Three days ago it sounded like a fantastic idea for a film, especially in light of the way Sam Jackson belted out blues tunes in Black Snake Moan. Now, it seems almost too sad to watch. Buying a ticket to Soul Men could end up feeling like you’re purchasing a seat at someone’s funeral.
Very eerie. The movie doesn’t open until November 14th and there’s a chance Dimension Films will halt the movie.
Also, did you know that Isaac Hayes was a devout Scientologist? He quit being the voice of "Chef" on South Park because they kept making fun of Tom Cruise. Interesting....
